This weekend should keep you more than busy with all the shows going on. My new favorite of 2008 TheJealous Girlfriends open for Nada Surf and Delta Spirit tonight. Chairlift, whom I wrote about yesterday, are with Yeasayer at the church. On Friday, Illinois releases Chapter 2 and The Absolute Zeros play a show in tribute of their percussionist who passed away on Monday. And a fellow Emily, Emily Bate, is at the Green Line Cafe (listen to her live on WKDU today at 2pm). Beach House open for The Walkmen at the TLA on Saturday, but my choice for that evening would be my local favorites Jukebox the Ghost with Papertrigger and Exit CLov at Johnny Brenda’s (more on this show later). Even Sunday night has some great line ups. Mad Dragon Records holiday show is at WCL with Matt Duke and The Swimmers headlining. And The Ting Tings are back in town at the TLA.
